The furniture has been developed through a dialogue between the artisan and innovation, maintaining the inherence of the process and its manual strokes. This one-of-a-kind piece is crafted from two slabs of volcanic stone, sourced from the southern provinces of Ecuador. SALAR is a sculptural candle holder, composed of a sand-cast bronze base, and hand-carved volcanic stone candle holders. The shape is a representation of the traditional process used for the production of salt in colonial times. In Salinas de Ibarra, a region in the north of Ecuador, the salt was filtered from the ground, and pressed into currency units.
