  • ÍCONOS is a creative and ethnographic exploration of the DNA and ICONS that constitute the Ecuadorian identity.

    The collection is a family of functional and sculptural objects based on the abstraction of Andean iconography and archetypes.

    It is an aesthetic exercise representative of the Andean region: its soul, materials, and talent.

  • LLAMA is a table lamp, composed of a lost-wax cast bronze body, and a handblown glass lampshade. It is a reinterpretation of an archetype of llama sculptures essential within Ecuadorian artisanship. The form was hand-sculpted in ceramic, then 3D scanned and manipulated in CAD. Lastly, the form is 3D printed for the final mold for casting.

  • HEMISFERIO is a table lamp composed of a sand-cast bronze base and a hand-carved volcanic stone top. The piece contains an LED light source inside the top, which reflects on the inside of the bronze base to emit indirect ambient light. The lamp contains a pivot point that opens and closes the sphere. It is an abstraction of Ecuador as the middle of the world, representing the equatorial line. It proposes to maintain a view towards the South, the northern hemisphere in stone and our southern hemisphere in bronze.

  • SALAR is a sculptural candle holder, composed of a sand-cast bronze base, and hand-carved volcanic stone candle holders. The shape is a representation of the traditional process used for the production of salt in colonial times. In Salinas de Ibarra, a region in the north of Ecuador, the salt was filtered from the ground, and pressed into currency units.

  • VALDIVIA is a sand-cast bronze sculptural object representative of the significance of religion within Latin American culture. It is an abstraction study; that combines the Virgin Mary with the Venus of Valdivia, representative of fertility and motherhood in the pre-Columbian communities of the Ecuadorian coast.
